How do we increase our Faith?
God's word says we can pursue it.
1st Timothy 6:11 – Pursue righteousness and godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. (12) Fight the good fight for true faith.
1. Ask God
-Luke 17:5 – Jesus’ apostles asked him to show them how to increase their Faith
(We can ask him the same thing)
-FAITH IS A GIFT FROM GOD (even the faith it takes to be saved)
-Gal 5:22 – But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, FAITHFULNESS, gentleness, and self control.
-Eph 2:8 – For you were saved by grace through Faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift from God
2. Read the Word
-Romans 10:17 – Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God
-John 8:30 – Even as He (Jesus) spoke, many put their faith in Him
3. Exercise it as we walk with Christ
-Col 2:7 – Let your roots grow down deep into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
We will overflow with thankfulness as we observe God’s faithfulness (Psalm 117:2, 119:90)
Psalm 117:2 - The faithfulness of the Lord endures forever
Psalm 119:90 - Your faithfulness continues through all generations
Our faith increases as we observe God's faithfulness
4. Share your life with other believers
-Romans 1:12 – We mutually encourage each other in our faith
